postheadericon Lubbock to Settle Suit over Police Brutality

“The city of Lubbock, Texas, has agreed to pay $425,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by three residents accusing two police officers of using excessive force during an arrest. The lawsuit claims two officers entered the home of one of the plaintiffs without permission and “beat him and used a stun gun on him repeatedly” during the arrest. The criminal charges that faced all three plaintiffs from the arrest were dismissed shortly thereafter.” –  Adam D. Young, Lubbock Avalanche Journal 12/13/2012
